On October 19, three outstanding business leaders to be recognized for contributions to New Hampshire.
Normandeau CEO and Board Chair Pam Hall, former president of White Mountains Attractions Association Dick Hamilton, and Rath Young Pignatelli Shareholder and Chairman Tom Rath will accept Lifetime Achievement awards at the Business and Industry Association’s 103rd Annual Dinner, Lifetime Achievement and New Hampshire Advantage Awards Celebration presented by Eversource from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel, Manchester.
The Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Whelen Engineering recognizes business leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to leadership in their professions, communities and New Hampshire. Award recipients help shape their communities and the state through successful business endeavors, active participation in civic organizations, involvement in boards, and service to local and state government.
Pam Hall is CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of Normandeau Associates, Inc., a nationally recognized, science-based environmental consulting firm headquartered in Bedford, NH. Pam began her career in 1971 as a marine scientist for Normandeau Associates. Fifteen years later, when the firm was sold to Thermo Electron, she became president – making her one of the few female executives in the environmental consulting industry. When Thermo divested in 1999, Pam led the effort to acquire Normandeau and make it an employee-owned company. Pam has given her time to many nonprofits, including the Environmental Business Council of New England, the Seacoast Science Center, Volunteer NH, the Land and Community Heritage Commission, the NH Charitable Foundation, and BIA.
Dick Hamilton, former president of White Mountains Attractions Association, has been northern New Hampshire’s leading tourism advocate for more than 50 years. After serving as executive director of Ski 93 in the 1960s, Dick began his 35 year tenure as president of the White Mountains Attractions Association. He has been a key figure in promoting the region’s natural beauty and many tourist attractions, crafting its image as a year-round travel destination. His efforts to support North Country’s heritage continue as CEO of the Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Fund, which is planning to build a memorial to the state’s iconic, lost landmark.
Tom Rath, founder of the law firm Rath Young Pignatelli and former attorney general of New Hampshire, has been actively involved in government relations since entering private practice in 1980. He has represented some of the state’s largest business, nonprofits, utilities, and higher education institutions. Tom is one of NH’s leading political advisors to state and presidential candidates. He served as Republican Party national committeeman twice and has been a delegate to the RNC nine times. Tom also served on advisory boards and boards of directors for several institutions of higher learning, as well as BIA.
Last year’s Lifetime Achievement honorees were Bradford Cook, senior partner and past president, Sheehan Phinney Bass and Green; Hypertherm Co-founder and Chairman of the Board Richard Couch; and Hypertherm Vice President, and founder and president of Hypertherm HOPE Foundation, Barbara Couch.
